I totally support Jared for talking about it, it was considerate and brave. My “complaint” is not about him, is about the people who don’t care about anyone besides themselves.
If Jared was aware of the situation, then ANYONE can be. Venezuela’s situation is all over internet, so how come people say they didn’t know? Nowadays is impossible to say you didn’t have access to information regarding other countries, that’s the good point about social networks and internet in general.
It’s true that Jared’s speech may have opened many people’s eyes. Sadly, that doesn’t change the fact that South America in general is overlooked by the rest of the world. The gap between our societies is too wide, and that’s the point of my comment.
